  • Conditions: The guarantee usually only applies if the customer is present to receive the package on the first delivery attempt.
  • Claims Procedure: Claims must be submitted within a short window, often 1–2 hours of delivery, with photographic or video evidence of the fish inside the unopened shipping bag.
  • Resolution: Approved claims usually result in store credit or a refund for the cost of the fish, often excluding shipping and packaging costs
  • Restrictions: Shipping is generally limited to specific, fast delivery services (e.g., overnight or 24-hour) to ensure animal welfare.
  • Weather Holds: Sellers reserve the right to delay shipments due to extreme weather conditions to prevent livestock death.
  • No Returns: Due to the risk to the animal, live fish are generally non-returnable
  • Acclimation: Customers are responsible for following proper acclimation procedures provided by the seller.
  • Tank Conditions: The buyer must ensure they have a suitable, cycled, and established aquarium with appropriate water parameters (e.g., pH, temperature, Ammonia) for the species ordered.
  • Quarantine: It is often recommended or required that new fish be kept in a quarantine tank, rather than immediately added to a community tank
  • Limitation of Liability: Sellers typically limit their liability to the purchase price of the fish and are not responsible for consequential damages, such as the loss of other fish in the customer’s tank.
  • Age Restriction: Purchasers must be 18 years or older.
  • Dry Goods Returns: Non-live items can usually be returned within 14 days if unused and in original packaging, though postage costs may not be refunded
  • Data Usage: Customer information (name, address, email) is used to process orders and arrange courier delivery.
  • Data Security: Sites implement security measures, but often note that internet transmissions cannot be guaranteed as 100% secure
